Pyfilesystem is a Python module that provides a common interface to many types of filesystem, and provides some powerful features such as exposing filesystems over an internet connection, or to the native filesystem.

Pyfilesystem works with Linux, Windows and Mac.

Here are a few of the filesystems that can be accessed with Pyfilesystem:

• OSFS - access the native filesystem
• FTPFS - access files on an ftp server
• MemoryFS - access files stored in memory
• S3FS - access files stored on Amazon S3
• ZipFS - access zip files
